Connect your channels

Data sources and social accounts are two different systems. This trips up nearly everyone.

There are two lists, they do different jobs, and connecting one never connects the other. This is the single most common confusion in the whole product.

ListWhat it is for
Data sourcesWhat reporting reads from: analytics, commerce, ads
Social accountsWhere finished work publishes to
  1. 1
    Connect the required data sources

The required list is short and marked. Everything else can wait, and you can add sources months later without redoing anything.

  2. 2
Authorise in the tab that opens

Each connection opens that service's own authorisation in a new tab. Come back afterwards and the checklist updates.

  3. 3
    Grant publishing permission on socials

This is the one to get right. A social account connected without publishing permission looks connected and then fails at the publish step, which you only discover the first time you try to post.

  4. 4
    Continue, or skip

Continue to dashboard appears once the required sources are connected. Skip for now works regardless and loses nothing.

Connecting is an admin action. If you are not an owner or admin you can pass through onboarding, and someone with admin rights connects the sources.
